9:00 AM – MORNING MARKET & WATCH LISTS UPDATE

NOTE: Today’s watch list with annotated charts can be found here.

Last week we had the major averages post solid weekly gains as the benchmarks ran back to their previous highs.

The Nasdaq recorded its best week of the year, while the Dow Jones reclaimed its 22k mark intraday on Friday.

The Blue Chips gained +173.89 points or +0.80% this past week, closing at 21,987.56.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

The Nasdaq ended the week up a whopping +2.71% or +169.69 points –  the biggest weekly gain since December – to end at 6435.33.

An +8% gain in its biotech sector, helped power the tech-laden index to close just short of another record high.

The S&P 500 finished the week up +33.50 points, or +1.37% to end at 2,476.55.

Wall Street’s benchmark cleared its 50-day moving average mid-week, then went on the close near previous highs.

Today, earnings announcements continue with Dave & Buster’s (PLAY) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) releasing numbers after the closing bell.

United Technologies (UTX) has announced plans to buy Rockwell Collins (COL) from our 2017 Complete Portfolio for $23 billion.

I ran my routine stock screens early this morning, and adding one new stock to our watch list.

We now have 15 stocks which we will be watching for a possible breakout here.

One stock in particular is CTRL. It has solid ranks, good fundamentals, and is very near its TRIGGER PRICE as shares are carving out a nice base near multi-year highs and just above the support of the 50-day moving average.

No one has to wait for me to issue any type of alert. Any trading above the stock’s TRIGGER PRICE while the day’s volume is at least on pace to make the TRIGGER VOLUME would have this set up confirming a BUY signal up to the MAX BUY PRICE.

Current Portfolio Members can access all watch lists with updated trading criteria including – TRIGGER PRICE, TRIGGER VOLUME, and MAX BUY PRICE for every stock here.

NOTE: If you would like to be notified via email or text message when one of these stocks breaks out, make sure you are on the BreakOuts Alerts list here.
