8:00 AM – MORNING MARKET & WATCH LISTS UPDATE

NOTE: Today’s watch list can be found here.

U.S. stock futures are pointing sharply higher this morning.

European and Asian markets were mixed to start their week.

This follows the limited strikes by the United States, the United Kingdom and France against areas of Syria on Saturday.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Some people dream of success, while other people get up every morning and make it happen.”
– Wayne Huizenga

On Friday, the major averages closed the session lower, led by a selloff in banking stocks, but each indexe still posted considerable weekly gains.

The Dow Jones advanced +1.8%, as the S&P 500 rose +2% while the Nasdaq closed up +2.8%.

Last week, I reported that the major indexes were fighting to stay above their 200-day moving averages. After they made a solid advance this past week, each is now at resistance of their respective 50-day moving averages.

For the Dow that is 24,653, the Nasdaq’s is currently at 7,196 and the S&P 500’s at 2,689.

On Friday, each was turned back from this important technical level.

Earnings could prove to be a bright spot for investors, who have been looking for fundamental news to trade on, as opposed to uncertainties surrounding U.S. politics and trade with China. However, political issues and now Syria/Russia will likely remain in focus, despite the ramp-up of earnings.

I ran my routine stock screens over the weekend and added 6 new stocks to our watch list.

We now have a total of 16 stocks which we will be watching for a buyable breakout here.

One stock in particular is CENTA which is trading just above its 50-day moving average.

No one has to wait for me to issue any type of alert. Any gains above the stock’s TRIGGER PRICE while the day’s volume is at least on pace to make the TRIGGER VOLUME would have this set up confirming a BUY signal up to the MAX BUY PRICE.

Current Portfolio Members can access all watch lists with updated trading criteria including – TRIGGER PRICE, TRIGGER VOLUME, and MAX BUY PRICE for every stock here.
